A special experience – not just for kids – are the cave ponds of Tapolca. Here you can do against a small entrance fee a boat tour below the city of Tapolca. After or before you can visit the accessible parts of the cave by walk. (you can about 70m walk around in the cave)

As a special fun with children or groups, sometimes the light is turned off. Not particularly funny if you look at the narrowest part of the cave (just before the end of the tour).
The only problem are sometimes the amount of visitors at the entrance of the cave during the summer season. It is sometimes more than 2 hours to get into the cave. For families with children this is not ideal.
